Schedule of Events

A tentative sports schedule is available below. Please note that it is subject to change.

Athlete and  non-participant check-in will begin on August 4th, 2017 at 10 a.m.  Please note that on-site registration is not available and you must pre-register by April 15 or by April 30 with a late penalty.

We are currently planning Opening Ceremonies to be held at Alumni Stadium on August 4th at 7 pm.  This will include the parade of athletes!  Remember to bring your country’s flag!

Please note that the schedule is subject to change for reasons including facility, personnel or scheduling conflicts.  We will endeavor to keep it updated, but understand that we are not responsible for difficulties that may arise for athletes or their families due to any changes that we make.  Understand that it is very difficult to set a schedule until all registrations are complete and sport techs have had an opportunity to create the schedules for individual sports.

World Masters Athletics Championships

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The World Masters Athletics Championships are the biennial championships for masters athletics events held under the auspices of World Masters Athletics, formerly called the World Association of Veteran Athletes, for athletes over the age of 35 years.[1]

The outdoor championships began in Toronto, Canada on August 11, 1975 and have continued in odd numbered years. In July 2011, World Masters Athletics changed their constitution to hold Championships in even numbered years, starting in 2016. Perth, Australia was selected to hold the first even year meet.[2] Later Road Racing Championships called Non-Stadia Championships were added, starting in Birmingham, England August 29–30, 1992. Indoor Championships in even numbered years started Sindelfingen, Germany, March 10–14, 2004.
